This is one of my favorite Malaysian recipe. It only takes very few ingredients but has complex and balanced flavors
If this is your first time cooking with shrimp paste, be aware that it might stink a lot when you open the jar, or until it is fully cooked. The smell will eventually fade away with heat.
You can easily find the shrimp paste and chili garlic sauce in asian grocery stores.
2 tbs cooking oil |
1 bunch asparagus (cut into 2 inch pieces) |
1/4 lbs jumbo shrimp |
1/4 yellow onions (sliced) |
1/2 tbs shrimp paste |
1 tbs chili garlic sauce (substitue: crushed red peppers) |
1 tsp sesame oil |
