Spicy Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Description

This is a delicious Shrimp Alfredo recipe that is quick and easy to prepare. This recipe is developed with linguine so it can be prepped and cooked in 30 minutes. Linguine takes shorter time to cook than fettuccine. You may substitute linguine with fettuccine, spaghetti or angel hair pasta.

Ingredients

Linguine (substitue to any pasta)
6-8 oz Raw shrimp
1 tbs Butter
1/2 tbs Olive oil
1/2 tbs Minced garlic
1 cup Heavy cream (substitute: half and half)
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 tbs Crushed red peppers
Salt for seasoning

Directions

Prepare linguine according to manufacturer's instructions. The alfredo sauce can be prepared while the linguine is cooking

On medium high heat, melt the butter and add the olive oil

Pat the shrimp dry using paper towel and add to the hot butter/oil mixture

Cook the shrimp until it becomes red. Some sear on the shrimp is desirable

Remove the shrimp and keep it aside

Add minced garlic and let it brown sightly

Add heavy cream and bring it to boil.

Add parmesan cheese and mix it with the cream. The sauce will start thicken up

Add the crushed red pepper and salt

Let it simmer for 3 minutes

Turn the heat off and add the cooked shrimp

Combine the linguine with the spicy shrimp alfredo sauce and serve it hot
