Tomato Bisque with Grilled Shrimp

Description

This is not an ordinary bisque. The recipe came to me when I was wondering what to do with some left over pasta sauce. Why not turn it into a bisque and add some grilled shrimp to elevate the dish?

 

Simply omit the shrimp to turn it into a vegetarian dish!

Ingredients

4 cups Traditional pasta sauce
2 tbs Olive oil
1 tbs Butter
1 tsp Crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp Dried parsley
1/4 cup Heavy cream
6 Shrimps
2 tbs Lemon juice
Salt
Pepper

Directions

Season the shrimps with lemon juice, salt and pepper

On a grill, cook the shrimps until the color changes to red/pink. The interior should be opaque and slightly white

In a pot, add the olive oil

When the olive oil is hot, add the crushed red pepper and let it brown slightly

Add the pasta sauce, dried parsley flakes and butter

Once the butter has melted, add the cream and wait until the bisque boils

Serve it warm with some croutons and grilled shrimp
